Falls Church Mayor Proclaims Veterans Day

Lyn Sherlock provided remarks to the City Council and submitted the proclamation on behalf of the Falls Church Chapter, NSDAR, and the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council. The proclamation was signed by Falls Church Mayor David Tarter. Lyn invited Veterans and family members to join in accepting the proclamation. Also accepting were Chapter members Lisa Maloney and Jennifer Inskeep, Virginia State Registrar. It read in part:

Whereas, throughout the history of the United States, men and women in uniform have risked their lives to protect the country’s interests and defend our freedoms; and Whereas, these sacrifices are also made by the family members who support the men and women who preserve the liberties that enrich the Nation; and Whereas, the United States of America has long stood as a beacon of hope and opportunity, and this spirit by members of the Armed Forces...who are part of an unbroken chain of brave patriots who have served our country with honor and made tremendous sacrifices so that we may live free; and Whereas, it is fitting and proper to officially recognize the patriotic celebrations to commemorate the occasion, including the annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
