Rosie the Riveter Memorial Rose Garden

Our program speaker for January 2019 was Madeleine LeBeau. Her talk, titled "Spirit of ’45 and the Rosies" outlined her project to honor all Rosie the Riveter's. Her group wants to honor these women by planting a rose garden in all 50 states by 2020.

Pictured is the dedication of the first Rosie the Riveter memorial rose garden in the Commonwealth of Virginia on the 99th birthday of the longest-working Rosie, Ms. Elinor Otto. Several Falls Church Chapter NSDAR members were in attendance.

Madeleine seeks to connect her generation (what she calls the "iGeneration") with “The Greatest Generation” and those who sacrificed all to win World War II. Madeleine has traveled throughout the Washington, D.C. area to tell people about her project, known as “iWitnessed iRemember.”
