During the Falls Church Veterans Day Remembrance Ceremony, Chapter Regent Lisa Maloney placed a wreath honoring our Nation’s veterans. The keynote speaker was Beverly Donner, a former Commander with the Public Health Service assigned to the surgical team in Danang, Vietnam where she treated civilian casualties. On behalf of the City of Falls Church and the NSDAR, Chapter First Vice Regent Lori Ramirez presented 50th Anniversary Commemorative pins to Beverly and her husband who also served during the Vietnam War.

We extend a special thanks to the Louisa Court House Chapter NSDAR members who partnered with us to make this a warm and fitting tribute. Joy Walsh gave the address covering the life and times of her Patriot ancestor, Private Samuel Wharton.
Rosie the Riveter Memorial Rose Garden
Our program speaker for January 2019 was Madeleine LeBeau. Her talk, titled "Spirit of ’45 and the Rosies" outlined her project to honor all Rosie the
Riveter's. Her group wants to honor these women by planting a rose garden in all 50 states by 2020.
Pictured is the dedication of the first Rosie the Riveter memorial rose garden in the Commonwealth of Virginia on the 99th birthday of the longest-working Rosie, Ms. Elinor Otto. Several Falls Church Chapter NSDAR members were in attendance.
Madeleine seeks to connect her generation (what she calls the "iGeneration") with “The Greatest Generation” and those who sacrificed all to win World War II. Madeleine has traveled throughout the Washington, D.C. area to tell people about her project, known as “iWitnessed iRemember.”
